If you are an author I can help with supplying books for your school or library visits around the country. I have a dedicated account with Gardners Books to supply stock on a sale or return basis. Books are delivered free of charge and can be sold by the school at a reduced price.
After the event I arrange for unsold stock to be collected free of charge. I then invoice the school for books sold. Visiting authors can then arrive confident that books are ready and waiting for their visit. Where at all possible I will come in person to help with the sale.
I also encourage schools to buy a set of books in advance for use in the classroom, library or to form a display.
Authors that I work regularly with are Tom Palmer, Joe Craig, Lou Kuenzler, Nick Arnold, David Lucas, Rob Lloyd Jones, Mark Lowery and many others via Authors Aloud.
A friendly and knowledgeable service.
Competitive school discounts.
Next day delivery – Free if over £50.
Discounts & Commissions
Books can be sold to students at a reduced cost, or a commission given in free books.
If you would like to hold a book fair in your school I can help plan a successful fair for students, teachers and parents. I am based on the Kent/Sussex border so this service is only available for schools that I can travel to within an hour.
I can tailor make the selection to your own requirements. I don’t bring any novelty books and I can include books that tie in with school topics, your most popular authors etc. Likewise I will leave out any genres of books or authors that you don’t wish children to buy.
I offer a generous commission on sales; you are free to choose any books whatsoever. I am there on the day to help students with their decision and can work with the school regarding differing methods of payment.

I am happy to work with schools and make recommendations. This takes into consideration all factors including the age of the students and budget the school has to spend. I can help plan the whole event, including travel and accommodation for the author.
Where possible I will accompany the author, collecting them from a station if needed. I will supply books and help plan the event so the school gets the most from the visit. If you are keen to have a particular author I may well have worked with them in the past and have good contacts with them or their publisher.
I can also suggest Poets, Performers and Illustrators most of have which I have first hand experience of working with.
I work regularly with publishers via Authors Aloud when authors have new books to promote, these visits are free of charge. If you would be interested please contact me for more information.

For the past two years I have supplied author books for the Bourneville Book Festival. A fantastic community event held in Birmingham. This festival has gone from strength to strength and has attracted leading authors and illustrators.
Pop Up Bookshops
I have experience at running Pop Up Book shops and I am open to suggestions especially if they are linked to a charity or to encourage a love of reading.
“Working with Rosie has transformed book sales in schools for me. She gets the right books in the right numbers to the schools at a great price, delivering and collecting any unsold copies with a minimum of hassle and outlay for schools. Teachers and librarians are invariably complimentary about how Rosie understands what schools need.”
“Rosie Hill has provided books for me at nearly all my author events for the last few years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Whether organizing the event herself or providing titles for bookings from other sources/agencies, she is always fantastically reliable and a total pleasure to work with. She takes the time to get to know her writers and their work. As such, she is able to help schools etc. choose the best titles and amounts of stock to exactly suit their needs. She deals directly with those hosting the visit, and countless schools and teachers have said to me how grateful they are to Rosie for setting everything up at their end with the absolute minimum of fuss. All the stress is taken out of book selling at any event for me now. I know I do not need to worry: Rosie on the case!”
